Ashley claims San Diego, California, as home, but in reality, she has moved often through childhood and her early 20s. She moved to Sydney in 2012, but prior to that, she lived in Seoul, San Diego, and all over the USA, Germany, and South Korea (again). She now calls the Illawarra region (south of Sydney) home.
βMoving has had a big effect on the way I see the world and my life as a dual-citizen. Iβm always flagging language similarities and differences with my Australian-born sons and have a keen ear for accents. Iβm obsessed with Australian native flowers, yet love American baseball games and Southern California street tacos. I think deeply about what βhomeβ, βimmigrant,β and βcommunityβ mean to me. Dual citizenship is a huge honour and an important gift Iβm proud to give my kids. It also makes my husband and I feel like weβre in a spy movie when we carry 8 passports through the airport!β

As a sustainability-focused, community-minded person, she is especially interested in working on projects with brands in the fashion, beauty, health, hospitality, food & beverage, interior design & home goods, luxury, and publishing industries that are kind to our planet, and respect all who reside on it.
βI donβt take life too seriously. but Iβm an ethically-minded person and deep thinker who canβt help but be led by my core values. Iβm a group chat organiser/organizer, girlsβ night host, and an βalways stop for a chat to the neighborsβ type. Iβm a quality-over-quantity extrovert who lives for reunion hugs. Nothing means more to me than community and connection.β

She believes connection, empathy, emotional intelligence, gratitude, and kindness are the only way to get through life well.
